How to get Involved?

There are lots of individuals and organisations who are already doing great things to promote Social Inclusion. Their work ranges from research and policy development, to community outreach work, service provision and fundraising. One of the simplest things we can do to build caring and inclusive communities, is to reach out to those around us. This is why we encourage everyone to host their own Social Inclusion Week event.

What would an ‘event’ look like?

Whatever you would like it to look like!  There are any number of discussion groups, forums, BBQs, sporting matches, movie screenings and morning teas that could bring people together and help them to think less about ‘me’ and more about ‘we’. There are options that can work for every community, venue and budget.   Remember - how people get together in communities, isn't as important as WHY!

What about fundraising?

Social Inclusion Week is a great opportunity to raise some money for one of the many great organisations that help those who are struggling. There is no one official charity for Social Inclusion Week, therefore your event may support a charity that is particularly relevant to your local community or is of personal importance to you. If you would like to donate to a charity but are not sure who to support, we are happy to recommend Play It Forward or the Choir of Hard Knocks.
